DNSBLS checks your domain name or IP address for listings in major blocklists. A blocklist is called an RBL (Real-time blackhole list) or a DNSBL (DNS blackhole list). These blocklists are based on spam, phishing or other illegal activities. DNSBLS checks your domain name or IP address against a comprehensive list of blocklists. If your host is blocklisted, we provide a link to the list's home page on which you can follow instructions on how to remove your domain name or IP address from the RBL/DNSBL list. Being blocklisted has several disadvantages. Mail servers routinely check if an IP address sending the email message is blocklisted in any of these lists. If it is, the mail server might reject the message. Sometimes, your IP address changes because your ISP assigned you a different address. This might cause an inconvenience if this new address is blocklisted. Follow the link in the report to request a removal. We lookup all major block lists, though SpamHaus and SpamCop are the major ones you should worry about. We do not store the results in our database. So if you are recently blocklisted or recently removed from a list, it will reflect on the results immediately (though removals are almost always never instant).
